meet becca

Hey, I’m Becca

I absolutely hate how most “about me” pages start off the same way a dating profile would: "and I like long walks in the woods, cups of hot coffee, and reruns of [insert favorite show here]”. It all ends up feeling so eyerolling, that at the end of five photographer about me’s, you have to remember which one “grew up with a camera in my hand” or “was always the one taking pictures.” Honestly - does it matter if I loved photography as a child, or just that I’m ready for anything your wedding day can throw at me?

Here’s the stuff that probably actually matters to you: I am invested in your story, and I work hard to get to know the real you. That way, when your wedding day arrives, you can rest easy and enjoy the day, knowing all of the authentic, emotional moments that matter most to you are captured beautifully for all the years to come.

My goal as a photographer is to tell the story of you. Your day is about you as a couple, about your two families joining together to merge into one. I love the joy and laughter that happens when you forget about the camera and just start enjoying your time with me, and with each other. I want to be able to capture your whole heart in photographs, so looking back you will remember this precious time in your life.

Ok - a little about me, since this technically is “about me”…. I am a wanderer at heart. Before I was twenty, I had lived in 5 countries, and never wanted to settle down in one place. If you had asked me 15 years ago if I would still be living in Buffalo, I would have most assuredly told you NO WAY. I ended up in Buffalo by chance and for a short term stay. My plans were to move back to the west coast, to Scotland, to Thailand, or anywhere else that lit my wandering heart that week. But then I met my husband, and figured a summer fling before I moved away would be fun, but nothing serious.

We married in 2008, and somehow I found my stable place, my heart and my home. While I still love to travel, I love having a home to come back to after the adventure is over… And now, with two kids, two dogs and a cat, being at home is a daily adventure!
