Brittany + Eric | Engaged
Brittany and Eric were waiting [im]patiently for snow for their engagement portraits. Normally I tell couples, “Don’t worry - we can do them in January… there is always snow in January,” and 95% of the time, I’m right. This year though, I was getting worried. So, when Brittany sent me a text on a Tuesday saying it looked like snow for the weekend and would I be able to do portraits on such a short notice, I jumped at the chance… because with this winter, who knows if we’ll have another good snowy day for engagement portraits!
So that Sunday came, and as I drove about five miles an hour in white out conditions to the Eternal Flame trail at Chestnut Ridge Park, I wondered if maybe we were being a little bit crazy. But I’ll pretty much do anything for a picture, and they seemed to still be ok with driving in it… so I continued on, halfway expecting a call saying they had gotten stuck or that it was too bad to make it.
But these two? They are hardcore. They made it, happily, and didn’t even flinch when I mentioned that the snow seemed to be coming down enough that it was now up to my knees, so we’d be trudging through it a bit. And then they proceeded to be super awkward. At least that’s what they told me… But looking at these pictures, you’d never believe them. I’m pretty sure they are used to modeling.
You guys - it was totally worth risking our lives.
