Burch Family | Amherst State Park

As a photographer, there is no better compliment of a job well done than a family that returns to you for their family portraits. Erin has been coming to me for family pictures since 2010. A full decade of family portraits (and massive changes in my skill). And yet, every session is unique.

Babies turn to toddlers, turn to kids, and soon turn to tweens. It feels like it wasn’t that long ago that we took her maternity pictures in the snow in front of her house, but looking back, I’ve been able to experience her kids growing up. And I’ve been able to make sure her kids have pictures of themselves with their parents, snuggled and loved.

Family portraits have become more meaningful for me this year. I’m not sure if it was because I was able to slow down and enjoy them, or because my own kid are suddenly seeming so much older, but I feel so blessed to be able to capture all these moments for all the wny families that have trusted me with their memories….
